Emirati telecommunications firm Yahsat launched on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) on 14 July, following an initial public offering that was first announced in late June. A 40% stake in the company was floated by Yahsat's owner: the United Arab Emirates' state-owned investment fund Mubadala. The flotation raised AED2.68 billion (USD730 million), with each share valued at AED2.75. As a result, the overall flotation effort has given the company a market capitalisation of AED6.7 billion. The flotation of the company was the first by Mubadala and reportedly generated significant interest from foreign investors. Ali Al Hashemi, CEO at Yahsat, said that the company remained "committed to building on our strong and proven operational and financial performance to date, in an effort to further strengthen the group's position as one of the world's leading satellite communications services providers. We have put in place a strategy that will enable us to not only maintain but also expand our geographical reach and capture future growth opportunities. We will continue to invest in new technologies and infrastructure to meet the global demand for reliable connectivity."
