摘要

After nearly two decades of war the Taliban's final push to regain control over Afghanistan took less than 10 days, as cities fell in rapid succession and often with the Taliban advances unopposed. Some politicians are blaming the collapse of the US-backed Afghan government on the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces' (ANDSF's) lack of will to fight, but the reasons are far more complex. "The Afghan [military has] 300,000 well-equipped [troops] - as well equipped as any army in the world - and an air force against something like 75,000 Taliban. ... The likelihood there's going to be the Taliban overrunning everything and owning the whole country is highly unlikely."
