Jordan's King Abdullah Ⅱ has said that his kingdom has been attacked with "Iranian-signature" unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in an interview broadcast by CNN on 25 July. Speaking about Jordan's security concerns regarding Iran, he said, "The f irefights on our border have increased almost to the times when we were at the high-end with Daesh [the Islamic State] and, unfortunately, Jordan has been attacked by drones that have come out that are Iranian-signature." When asked when these attacks happened, he said, "In the past year or so and escalating." Iran is known to have supplied UAVs or the technology to make them to the armed groups it supports in Arab countries, but no such attacks were previously reported in Jordan. The king added that Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates are "engaging with Iran to bring down the temperature".
