Vietnam is a promising defence market for exporters despite the country's strength-ening ties with long-time rival China. Several factors point to potential. Vietnam remains reliant on imports for nearly all its military requirements and its primary motivator to modernise its military -the need to protect regional territory and assets - is certain to remain a priority.
