Liquid Robotics has developed a next generation Wave Glider platform that is designed to enable operations in more arduous conditions and for long durations, among other enhancements. Dan Middleton, Liquid Robotics' executive vice-president, told Jane's at DSEI 2017 that the improvements enable the Wave Glider to conduct missions in at least Sea State 6 and at greater latitudes, with operations already conducted at 78.76° North and 64.8° South - in the Arctic and Southern Oceans respectively. He added that the platform has operated successfully in Sea State 8.
