The Turkish armed forces have taken into service Havelsan's Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Training System, IHS Jane's has learned. Speaking at IDEX 2015 in Abu Dhabi, Havelsan's general manager and CEO Sadik Yama said the system has been configured to provide training for the Anka medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) UAV. Development of the simulator began around four-years ago, Yama said, explaining that the company later recognised the potential utility for the system to act as a ground-control station (GCS) for operational aircraft.
