General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc (GA-ASI) expects to have a key element of its unmanned aircraft detect-and-avoid (DAA) architecture ready for sale early next year as industry and military officials seek to integrate unmanned platforms into national airspace. The company is now working to complete a pre-production engineering development model of its Due Regard Radar (DRR) and this is to be available to select customers in the first quarter of fiscal year 2015, said Satish Krishnan, who works on the DRR aspect of the overall DAA for General Atomics, at a 12 May briefing at AUVSI 2 014 in Orlando, Florida.
