Technical disputes and political posturing mark the way ahead as NATO and Russia struggle towards a key meeting in June to get their hoped-for co-operation on ballistic missile defence (BMD) off the ground. The arrangement would include the creation of two joint sites: a data-fusion centre to provide early missile defence target-acquisition data to both sides, and a defence-planning centre to tackle common threats.
