L3Harris Technologies has developed a new member of its Falcon. Ⅲ radio family, and launched it at IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi. The RF-7850D is a multi-channel, multi-mission vehicular radio that L3Harris claims to be one of the industry's smallest. Designed for simple installation in a vehicle - with no requirement for a shock mount or specialised racking - it weighs 5.2 kg, and measures 71×264×234 mm. The radio is intended to be a part of a modular system controlled from an external device, enabling it to be installed wherever there is available space, without the user requiring easy access to the controls.
