Russia's state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has denied reports of problems with the first Yasen-class (Project 885M) nuclear-powered attack submarine (SSN). USC insists the submarine Severodvinsk will be commissioned in 2013 as planned. In a press release, USC said the submarine will finish testing in December, before the navy makes its acceptance decision. USC claims testing has been successful so far, and that the submarine meets speed and manoeuvrability requirements.
