The first of eight new 80 m high-speed Landing Craft Tank (LCT) vessels, C-l 51, was handed over to the Turkish Naval Forces Command by shipbuilder ADIK on 9 March. Powered by two MTU 16V4000 M70 diesels driving two shafts through ZF 7666 reverse reduction gearboxes, the LCT is designed to achieve a speed of 18 kt at a full-load displacement of 1,15 5 tons, or a maximum continuous speed of 16.5 kt. Range is 1,600 n miles, with an endurance of seven days. In light conditions, the design can transit at speeds of up to 20 kt.
