USN eyes Osprey variant A variant of the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft is being considered as a candidate air vehicle for the USN's future Carrier On-board Delivery capability. NAVAIR is conducting an analysis of alternatives to replace the C-2A Greyhound, which entered service in 1966 as a fixed-winged aircraft to provide logistics support to aircraft carriers. Options are a remanufacture of the existing aircraft or migration to V-22.
