A Windows-based touchscreen terminal that can allow over-the-horizon access for organic watercraft to their host ship's command-and-control data is to be trialled in two Royal Australian Navy frigates, one as an urgent operational requirement (UOR).rnSaab Systems' 9LV SAT (Situation Awareness Terminal) Asset Manager (AM) consists of a rugged 12-inch screen and a control box with 1.6GHz processor, and is designed to bolt on to the coxswain's console of a rigid-hull inflatable boat (RHIB), small landing craft or similarly sized platform.rnAM accesses the same situational awareness and navigation safety information that is displayed by the Saab 9LV combat system in the navy's eight ANZAC-class frigates.
