The Pakistan Navy's Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate PNS Alamgir (F 260) has begun a four-month overhaul at BAE Systems' Southeast Shipyards in Jacksonville, Florida.rnThe former US Navy (USN) frigate USS Mclnerney (FFG 8) was handed over to the Pakistan Navy during a 'hot transfer' ceremony at the nearby Mayport Naval Station on 31 August.rnThe ship was transferred under the US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme, with VSE Corporation contracted to oversee the regeneration work. VSE's scope of work will primarily serve to upgrade navigation radars and the bridge communications suite with no additional major upgrades to the weapons system.
