To back up its performance claims, Kelvin Hughes has completed an extensive programme of test and trials activities to characterize and prove the quantum leap in performance offered by SharpEye™ technology. In parallel, it has commissioned an independent performance audit to provide an impartial assessment of the system's published performance. Both l-band and F-band SharpEye™ variants have been the subject of performance testing by QinetiQ and have also completed a comprehensive and fully independent performance modelling assessment undertaken by QinetiQ'srnPortsdown laboratory. The latter activity has used the NEMESIS RF performance modelling tool to calculate detection and tracking performance against a range of target types in specific environments andrnsea states, validating predicted performance and fully endorsing the advantages offered by SharpEye™ technology. Results are available on application.
