French procurement agency Delegation Generale pour I'Armement has asked DCNS to supply 12 Sylver A43 vertical-launch systems for Italy's FREMM frigate programme. The first two missile launchers -sufficient for one of the Bergamini-class multimission ships - will be delivered to Italy in May 2010. The Italian Navy has a requirement for 10 of the 5,750-ton vessels, each one equipped with two eight-cell launch systems for Aster 15 or Aster 30 munitions as part of the Principal Anti-Air Missile System.
