摘要

RRSs are now established in various forms throughout the world, most prominently in Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. The RRS and MET conferences remain a venue where practitioners and clinicians from various educational, professional, and cultural backgrounds can meet to discuss the merits of each system. As importantly, it also offers a venue where experts can meet to discuss research efforts to develop or enhance modalities to improve detection of impending deterioration and systems to facilitate rapid administration of evidence-based care.* Yet, despite the success of these meetings, many challenges, such as overcoming cultural barriers, maintaining patient-care autonomy for educational purposes, and demonstrating the cost-efficacy of RRSs remain unresolved.
