摘要

The authors of the paper under discussion have investigated the effect of the engine mass and thrust on the flutter of a uniform wing in incompressible flow. They showed that the engine mass and thrust may have considerable effect on the flutter boundary of the wing. They used the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory with a concentrated engine mass for the structural dynamics modeling. The authors stated that the finite-state model of Peters (Peters et al. 1995) is used for the calculation of the aerodynamic loads without considering the engine aerodynamics. The governing equations of motion were derived by using the Hamilton principle and solved by the Galerkin technique via the assumed modes method.
