I am a chartered town planner, now retired, and have been professionally involved with UK aviation policy issues since the early 1970s. As I descend into my dotage, it seems appropriate for me to comment on the absolute failure of successive governments to establish a credible aviation policy and to advise how the present UK Coalition Government should move forward in developing a sensible, workable and sustainable aviation policy that will guide the industry and the travelling public over the next 50 years.

The collaborations analysed span academia, civil society and government, from the grassroots to the national and global levels.
