Investigating the effect of mixed velocity disturbances (harmonic and turbulent) in the free stream on the boundary layer transition, some interesting changes of the flow features whose have been not expected in advance were observed. Evidently these changes hang together with the occurence of very complex periodically unsteady velocity and pressure fields - standing undulation - that were provoked in the working section in the course of generating an oscillatory flow. The observed effects motivated to perform some additional measurements.
