摘要

Although the basic mechanisms of shear-induced laminar resuspension might be well understood, only a few uni-directional cases have been studied in detail. The models used in these studies balanced shear-induced diffusion with particle flux due to gravity. Experimental measurements agree well with the theoretical predictions when the flowrates were small, but larger flowrates caused several types of instabilities. Linear stability analyses showed that resuspension flow in a 2-D channel is almost always unstable.
