This is an introductory book on statistics, which explains basic concepts on an elementary level without assuming any prior knowledge of statistics or probability theory. The treatment is written to be used in one-semester courses for non-statisticians and is complemented by numerous exercises at the end of each section. All the standard topics are briefly covered: measures of location and variation, basic probability concepts, sampling distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression and the comparison of groups. The author manages to avoid mathematical technicalities almost completely and successfully focuses on getting only the major concepts across.%Integricom, The Netherlands;
