The Asia continent is composed of various continental blocks and accreted terranes with variable sizes, including Siberia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, the Central Asian Orogenic Belt, North China, South China, Tarim, Tibet, India, and SE Asian terranes. Along its eastern margin, there are a series of marginal basins (such as Aleutian Basin, Okhotsk Basin, Japan Basin, West Philippine Basin, South China Basin, Sulu Sea, and Coral Basin, etc.) with active arcs (such as the Aleutians Islands, the Japan Islands, the Ryukyus, the Philippines, the Mariana Islands, and the Solomon Islands, etc.) (Karig, 1971).
