A traditional one-shot, such as teaching a single session during a semester-long course, may be fine for bibliographic instruction, but is not well-suited when it comes to information literacy, The One-Shot Library Instruction Survival Guide offers advice and guidance on making the most of a one-shot from two eminently qualified professionals. Heidi Buchanan, who heads research and instruction services at Western Carolina University, is a graduate of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Information Literacy Immersion program and is certified as a master trainer by the State Library of North Carolina. Beth McDonough, a National Board certified teacher in school library media, is completing a dissertation about critical information literacy for an Ed.D. in leadership of curriculum instruction.
