Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura) population indices for the western United States have declined significantly since 1966. Based on data collected in 1951-1952, in Fill- More, Utah, we examined whether there had been a local decline in the dove population Index since the original data were collected. We then determined whether habitat had been Altered, identified which foraging habitats doves preferred, and assessed whether changes in Land use could be responsible, in part, for a decline in the local population index.
