The U.S. DOT has revised its regulations governing the transport of hazardous materials by air. The majority of the amendments in the final rule apply to the preparation and offering of hazardous materials for transportation by aircraft (i.e., the "shipper's" requirements). They relate to limited quantities, consumer commodities and the "small" quantity exceptions. The amendments limit the hazardous materials permitted for transport by aircraft under these exceptions.
