The final sale of the year for the Border & Lakeland Holstein Club took place at Borderway, Carlisle on Wednesday 16th December 2009. The general quality of the milking animals were of a very high standard with top herds consigning in numbers. The show was judged by local breeder Andrew Carter from Gerrard Holsteins, Wigton. He purchased the Champion for 2600gns from Geoff Wilson, Low Field Farm, Appleby. She was Snow Lady 70, sired by Gerrard Spirte from a VG87 dam. The Reserve Champion was Snow Car Margaret VG88 also from G&M Wilson. A youthful cow in her third lactation she sold for 2100gns to N&SJ Sanderson, Burtholme Farm, Lanercost.
