摘要

Law tends to be jurisdictional and dependent on slowly evolving norms. In contrast, the Internet marketplace is global and dynamic. National governments around the world have enacted laws to respond to the social and economic challenges of new technologies. Legal norms, contractual responsibilities, and state regulatory functions interact to shape Internet law in this embryonic stage of the Digital Age. The good aspects of Internet law foster international trade in a manner that promotes economic prosperity. The Internet heralded a new age of commerce characterized by an explosion of more information, global markets, and disparate participants. Lawmakers have been able to productively accommodate modern business practices without stifling the popularity of the burgeoning medium.
