JR: Many cities are choosing to invest in light rail systems: now almost 150 are in different phases of development all over the world. It is very difficult to estimate the projected light rail ridership increase by 2025, but it is likely to be high given the measures being taken and results starting to be seen. For existing systems, operators and industry have been working hard together to forge a customer-oriented policy focused on customer care and user needs today and in the future. More convenient, reliable and safe rail travel is promoting existing customer loyalty and attracts car drivers.
