摘要

Transport ticketing has remained largely unchanged for more than 160 years; the same principle of using a simple paper ticket still applies in many, or maybe most, EU countries today despite the emerging technologies. What has, instead, dramatically changed is the introduction and use of technology in that field: the shift to smart cards and more intelligent ticketing solutions has opened the doors to many changes that make the ticketing system as easy as possible for our customers.
