The economic crisis has had a somewhat delayed effect in Latin America, but in the first quarter of 2009, the effects are becoming evident in most of the countries in the region - in some more than others - depending on how dependent therneconomy is on the USA or Europe. Sadly, local and World Bank analysts both indicate that the crisis is likely to leave millions of Latin Americans on the bread line, and - with possibly some exceptions - all the countries in the region are likely to enter into recession. The outlookfor economic growth is very gloomy (zero growth) as predicted in the first analyses of the year.
