In our communication-based urban society, mobility is a vital requirement. Access to jobs, education, culture, recreational and consumer hubs are all dependent on mobility. In a word, it determines the extent to which each individual is integrated into the social fabric. Knowing how to read a map, navigating the urban space, working out a route, using the ticket vending machines, understanding the sig-nage, and transferring from one mode of transport to another-none of this is innate. It requires real skills. Lacking these skills, a passenger will keep making mistakes, which in turn will trigger anxiety, stress, and may even lead to them avoiding the public transport system altogether.
