Realising that the Accessibility legislation defined in Europe, on the basis of requirements for long-distance services, is often unsatisfactory for local and regional railway services, local authorities and train operating companies are already taking measures that go beyond the legal requirements. UITP has undertaken a study to analyse how to bridge the step and gap and provide guidance to stakeholders who wish to offer independent access.
