摘要

The Superbus is a concept for a streamlined electric public transport vehicle that can operate at speeds of up to 250 km/h. Such speeds can be reached on special designated tracks, but the Superbus can also be driven at lower speeds on existing roads and bus lanes. The vision is one of comfortable, demand driven, point-to-point transport that is able to compete with cars. A joint project of multiple faculties within the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, Superbus is part funded by the Dutch Government The project team aims to have a fully functioning demonstration vehicle built by 2008 for the Beijing Olympics.
