摘要

It is a common scene repeated in many an American film where the protagonist hails a taxicab to the airport only to get stuck in traffic along the way. The reality is traffic congestion approaching U.S. airport has reached a disproportionately high percentage of travellers, and is incapacitating access to and fro the city centre. Public transport is seen by many airport authorities, city officials and public transport operators as the best means of getting both visitors and airport employees moving. Consequently, airport links to major U.S. airports are evolving but at a considerably slower rate than witnessed in Asia or Europe. And in many cases, the debate of bus over rail dominates the proceedings.
