Friends, from time to time we will include a guest editorial to include voices from different scientists from all over the world. Prof. Dr. Reinhart Poprawe is the contributing guest editor for this issue. He was instrumental in developing the relationship with CLP, WLT and ELI for JLA. He is one of the leading members of the laser community and his thoughts on innovation and future of laser materials processing is elegantly described in the guest editorial. He is also the newly appointed senior editor for materials processing.
