摘要

The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (SCCRWA), a non-profit public corporation set up by a charter from the State of Connecticut, provides an average of 48 million gallons of water every day to almost 430,000 residents in 15 communities in the area. Source water is drawn from ten active reservoirs and three aquifers. The Authority owns another five inactive reservoirs. The top photo is of one of the Maltby Lakes, a series of three inactive reservoirs in West Haven, CT. Recreation permit holders are allowed to fish, hike and bike at the Maltby Lakes Recreation Area, one of nine areas that are part of the Authority's recreation program. The photo was an entry in the Authority's annual Recreation Photo Contest and was taken by Aaron Mathison.
