摘要

Separating trivalent actinides (An(Ⅲ)) from lanthanides (Ln(Ⅲ)) is one of the most challenging issues because of their similarity of chemical properties. In the field of the nuclear chemical engineering, of great importance is in the selective separation of An(Ⅲ), which enables long-lived An(Ⅲ) to reduce its toxicity by transmutation with neutron. A noted methodology for the separation of An(III) is to use a soft-donor ligand based on its preferable coordination to softer An(Ⅲ) than Ln(Ⅲ). Since there is a trend toward hy-dration on An(Ⅲ) and Ln(Ⅲ), the soft-donor ligand should be designed as a multidentate ligand which can control the hydration of An(Ⅲ) and Ln(Ⅲ). To this end, surrounding metal ions with a podand type ligand satisfies these criteria as an approach.
