摘要

A new variant of multipass cell useful for long path laser spectroscopy is proposed for providing long path lengths in relatively small cell volume. This design introduces astigmatism in spherical cell by inserting a cylindrical lens inside the cavity. Thus a dense beam reflection pattern is obtained. A study of beam path in cell has been carried out using ray tracing with respect to cylindrical lens focal length and its position inside the cavity. It is found that a large number of re-entrant solutions can be obtained by varying position of lens for a fixed focal length. This design will find applications in laser spectroscopy techniques utilizing multipass cells like Raman gain, photo-acoustic, and laser feedback applications.
