I. CALL TO ORDERnThe business meeting was called to order by President TimnYoshino on Wednesday, 9 August 2006, in the Clyde Auditorium,nat approximately 1410 hr. He thanked the audience fornattending, announced the incoming officers for 2007, thankednall the outgoing officers for their service, thanked the corporatensponsors, Farnam Companies, Inc., and Pfizer Animal Health,nInc., and called on the officers to present their reports.nMotion 1. Under ‘‘New Business,’’ a motion to acceptnnew members as presented to Council on 6 August 2006nwas made, seconded, and passed unanimously.nII. SECRETARY-TREASURERnJohn Janovy, Jr., presented the secretary-treasurer’s report,nincluding membership, subscription data, and cash flow datanand indicated that the Society was solvent but that membershipsnwere an ongoing concern. He also mentioned Council actionnthat would allow student members to continue a 3 yr subscriptionnat the regular student rate after receipt of the terminal degree.nFinally he thanked Beth Wilkins for her highly professionalnand multifaceted work as S-T assistant.nIII. JOURNAL OF PARASITOLOGY EDITORnGerald Esch led a short discussion of the Journal of Parasitology’snimpact factor and its potential effect on subscriptionsnand paper submission and mentioned some of the items discussednby Council, including the possibility of putting all researchnnotes into a separate publication at the end of each calendarnyear. He also thanked Vickie Hennings for her service tonthe Society.
