Robert Shiller's book, "The Subprime Solution," brings together this highly respected author's three long-running research lines: how markets move, how macrorisks can be managed, and real estate pricing. As the Arthur M. Okun Professor of Economics at Yale, a co-founder and chief economics of Macro Markets, LLC, and a creator of the widely cited Case-Shiller Home Price Indices, Dr. Shiller is uniquely positioned to comment on the ongoing financial crisis that began with problems in the subprime mortgage market. The Subprime Solution focuses on residential real estate over the past ten years, but the book is best thought of as a general study of asset booms/busts, that emphasizes real estate examples.
