摘要

This paper presents the specification and the salient design features of the Reaction Wheel Assembly designed and developed for IRS-1C/1D spacecraft. A novel feature of Dynamic Friction Compensation scheme has been employed in the Reaction wheel which dynamically compensates the friction torques of the Reaction wheel so that the uncompensated friction torque seen by the spacecraft is less than 1 gm cm compared to the normal wheel which provides friction torque to the spacecraft of the order of 25 to 50 gm cm.
