摘要

Recent neuroscientific discoveries are refining our understanding of what makes therapy work and how God image difficulties can be addressed effectively in counseling. This article discusses neural networks, implicit and explicit memory systems, hemispheric specialization and neurological aspects of trauma in regards to how these impact our assumptions about traditional psychotherapy and God image transformation. Given the varying levels of neuroscientific training in the pastoral and mental health professions, this discussion is written in an introductory fashion. Implications are highlighted through a case study demonstrating spiritually-based intervention strategies.
