摘要

Thermoelastic problems in a functionally graded hollow circular cylinder are analyzed. The material properties of the cylinder are assumed to vary arbitrarily along the radial direction. A new, effective and simple method is presented for gaining the response of the temperature and thermal stresses. Using the Laplace transform, we convert the heat conduction equation as well as the thermal stress problem into Fredholm integral equations. By numerically solving the resulting equations and performing numerical inversion of the Laplace transform, the temperature change and thermal stress response in physical domain can he obtained. The effectiveness of the presented method is confirmed by comparing numerical results with the exact solutions in the steady-state for power-law gradient. Finally, for a cylindrical functionally graded vessel made of aluminum and zirconia as two constituent phases, whose properties obey a special radial nonhomogeneity, the response history of temperature change and thermal stresses are presented graphically to show the influence of the gradient parameter at different stages.
