An article in the February 2010 issue of JVIB entitled "The Postural Responses to a Moving Environment of Adults Who Are Blind," by Stoffregen, Ito, Hove, Yank, and Bardy, was of particular interest to me in my work as an occupational therapist. Because the pairing of ves-tibular input and sound is a concept that occupational therapists also use in practice, the authors' hypothesis that sound emitted from loudspeakers and headphones contributed to the participants' postural responses or body sway caught my attention and brought to mind previous research on the subject.
