In January, during the cold, dark, damp days I thought I'd cheer myself up by wrapping up warm and going for a walk around the garden. Ours is big by most people's standards, so yes, I can go for a good walk in it and feel as though I've been somewhere! While out in the biting wind, I noticed that I hadn't deadheaded the buddleia. I'm of the opinion that the more dead heads that are left on the plants, the more food is available for the birds during the winter, which I'm sure they appreciate -particularly this year. Or am I just idle?!
