In this research, the effects on diesel combustion and emissions of oxygenated agent addition to fuels were investigated for several base fuels with different proper- ties in a high-speed DI diesel engine. The results may be summarized as follows: Significant smoke suppression was obtained for the Oxygenated agents tested, and the effect almost solely Depended on the oxygen content in the mixed fuels, While it was slightly affected by the properties of base Fuels and kinds of oxygenated agent.
