A new intermeshing rotor for an internal batch mixer has been developed. In this paper, the process of development and the features are described. The features include a) enhanced cooling effect b) good dispersion of carbon black, c) effective reduction of Mooney viscosity, d) high productivity, and e0 a wide range of fill factor. Another characteristic is the interchangeability with the Non-intermeshing mixer produced by Kobe Steel, as the Center distance of rotors of the intermeshing mixer series Is the same as that of the non-intermesning mixer series.
