摘要

A new current waveform control method in gas shielded arc welding suitable for welding robot systems has been developed. Spatter generation can be suppressed by decreasing the current just before arc restriking and just after the occurrence of short-circuiting, further controlling the vibration of the molten pool. Sound beads at the start of welds are assured by high current response and a small residual droplet at the wire. Burn-through can be prevented in thin-plate welding by controlling the ratio of EN to EP. Together, these techniques maximize the productivity of robot systems.
