According to the Austrian Times, the Styrian firm Wollsdorf Leather (Wollsdorf Leder) announced on March 31 that it would lay off 76 of their 720 employees at their plants in Wollsdorf and Weiz in response to the recession.rnThe firm said they would temporarily lay-off another 51 'highly-qualified' workers and re-employ them as soon as conditions improved. Wollsdorf had closed their plant in Wilhelmsburg in lower Austria, laying off the 58 workers, and put all other employees on part-time working hours back in January.
